We had unbelievable experience living in traditional Japanese house. Hundred years old wooden building preserved all details from old stove to sleeping on tatami using futon. Even feeling cold of the house during our stay in winter was needed to feel ourselves closer to what people where experiencing living in the old times in traditional buildings. Separate story of how grate and comfortable all organised inside, how detailed and attentive. It is a perfect location for exploring old town Naramachi and historical sites. Very close to the station and many stores around in five to ten minutes walk. Also great experience for us were few workshops, pottery classes, calligraphy and traditional ink making. Small local museum of the traditional toys is amassing, couple old houses open for free entrance to investigate all details including the inside garden is a very good possibility. And it's all located in couple minutes walk.

It is a traditional Japanese guest house that is run similar to a hostel with different types of things, including private rooms. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed our time there. They provide towels and robes for a small rental fee. The price was really great for the area and they have private family rooms with shower and toilet, which is what we chose. Check in was easy and done with a key pad on our own, which was nice because it was quite flexible. The rooms were clean and the small garden in the back was pretty.

The two rooms were simple, but clean and comfortable and a generous size for three people. We stayed in the family rooms with private bath. One room has two beds, and in the living room, you can put another bedroll at night. The hot tub was lovely with good hot water. The location is perfect for visiting the sites of Nara and really close to both the Craft museum and toy museum. Very close to a number of restaurants and the shopping streets but in a very quiet area.

The location was fantastic, the staff was very friendly, the facilities were clean and tidy, and the room was lovely! We booked one of the private rooms and it was bigger than we were expecting which was nice, plus there was a little coffee table and a clothes rack with some hangers that were nice bonuses. The walls are pretty thin so you can hear a good amount, but all the guests were very quiet and respectful so that wasn't really an issue.

The guesthouse caters for guests who are looking for a more traditional accommodation in Japan. The room with tatami and futon and private basin and toilet was very comfortable. The rice in the morning was a welcome start to the day. The communal showers were great with good hot water and pressure. A small garden in the back to enjoy the cooler evening air.
